Well, Hello world! & welcome to my mini blog. Here you will find my thoughts on just about anything, but this week's blog will be dedicated to the start of my business.
My name is Mechillinda Lee and I'm a 23 year old University of Arkansas Fort Smith alumni (hometown is Little Rock, AR). I graduated with a bachelors degree in General Studies with a Minor and background in Business Administration. I graduated from UAFS in December of 2015. WOOO HOOO! ;-)
Here is a quick picture of me below:
So just being honest, I have NO CLUE what I just got myself into... But I know exactly what I'm doing... Please, allow me to explain. I'm currently employed, and I actually love it! The pay is awesome, my boss is amazing, and I don't dread going to work everyday. Despite that, my parents both are entrepreneurs, and I knew that sooner or later I would have to learn to stand on my own two feet without the help of corporate America. So I took a leap of faith in launching my own boutique.
WHY A BOUTIQUE?
I've always had a passion for fashion! Coco Chanel is my ultimate FAV! Then follows everyone else. I have a very unique style. I love outerwear and statement jewelry. Anything that screams," I'M HERE!", is pretty much a go for me. BUT... I hate to look identical to anyone else. With that, here are three words my boutique and I survive on: Chic, Unique, and Bold. I don't have a specific look I stick to, i.e. BOHO, FLORAL, ect. I favor timeless fashion looks. That doesn't mean I won't support a good trend. I myself just won't make it my goal to wear or even sale one specific style as most would.
The legal name of my Boutique is... View Three Thirty Seven Boutique.
View= The Vision of our wardrobe.
Three Thirty Seven= 337=Lee ... Which is a family code.
WHERE DID I START?
After deciding to take the leap, I began my research. Late nights reading books on relevant topics and asking local businesses all the right questions, I built the confidence to go out and get it! I received my Sales Permit and registered myself as a buyer. My next step was to found help with creating my website and researched more on shipping rules and regulations(THE HEADACHE OF ANY ONLINE BUSINESSES). Finally, it was time to get some merchandise. This meant it was time to appear at a TRADE SHOW! This was another headache, but it was sooo much fun to experience.
Here's a pic below:
As soon as I put in some orders, slowly but surely I began receiving merchandise. And I must say, you would be pleased! The material is phenomenal and everything that I've gotten so far has been very true to size. I set a launch date for our website on July 11, 2016.
THAT IS ALL! As you can see I am a very free spirited individual, and I love a good laugh. I am a Christian/ Jesus Follower, and I owe it all to him. I thank GOD for helping me when no one else could. Without him, none of this would be possible. As for the ending note, here's a word from the man upstairs himself:
Philippians 4:13 NKJV I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
